VERO BEACH — Vero Beach Police responded to an anonymous tip regarding marijuana plants growing around a Vero Beach home in the 3000 block of Atlantic Boulevard, around 12 p.m. Sunday.
Officers collected approximately 10 marijuana plants from pots and a garden in the front yard and un-fenced backyard of the home on Sunday while the residents were out, according to the arrest affidavit.
Police returned on Monday to speak to the residents of the home and continue their investigation.
Corinne Troisi, 36, told officers that growing marijuana was a “hobby” and she did not realize she could get into “too much” trouble, according to the arrest report. She said she had been growing the plants for about four months and has seeds planted “all over her property.”
Troisi now faces one charge of cultivation of marijuana. She is being held in the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
