DESCRIPTION:Girls on the Run of the Treasure Coast will host a Virtual 5K the week of November 9-14th. Girls on the Run is known nationally for the focus on physical\, social\, and emotional health of girls using fun running games and discussions for girls in 3rd-8th grades. \nDuring the 8-week program\, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence\, build peer connections\, and encourage community service while they prepare for an end-of-season celebratory 5K event at their school site. In the spirit of keeping the community involved and moving forward\, Girls on the Run of the Treasure Coast will sponsor a Virtual Celebration 5K – Run\, Red\, White\, and Blue. \nParticipation in the 5K can be completed “your way\,” and participants can run\, walk\, or even bike their way to celebrate healthy movement. Registration cost is $15 for adults\, $10 for 12 and under and includes a medal and tote bag. DESCRIPTION:Sebastian Paddle Fest (formerly known as Pareidolican) is now in its 3rd year and will be raising funds and awareness for the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation (DRCF). \nThe race is hosted at Pareidolia Brewing Company and will start/finish from Riverview Park in Sebastian. \nThere are three distance races open to all paddlecraft including a kids race (350 yards)\, 5K\, and 10k course. The US Coast Guard will be on scene to provide safety on the water. \nThe races start at 9:45 a.m. with the after party being hosted at Pareidolia Brewing Company. Race fees are $25 per person\, which includes a commemorative glass\, first beverage compliments of Pareidolia\, and a reduced price lunch with all proceeds benefiting the charity. \nHosted by Sunshine Surfski\, LLC\, the event will aide in bringing awareness to the DRCF and to help get more people involved in non-contact sports such as paddling disciplines.
