Sylvia Shearer, 77, formerly of Fellsmere, passed away on May 1, 2015, in Fort Pierce.
She is survived by her children, Carol and Newell Blankenbaker, Michelle Kurth and the late Preston Kurth, Rick Shearer, and Jeani Shearer; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Shearer, Sr., parents, James Cleve and Beatrice Gore, brothers, Alva Gore, Vernon Gore, Lonnie Gore, sister Josephine Drawdy, and son-in-law, Preston Kurth.
Shearer was born in Fellsmere and was a lifelong resident of the Treasure Coast. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, going out with her lunch buddies, crafting, and decorating her home, but most of all, spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 12 to 1 p.m. with a service to follow at 1 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
