VERO BEACH — Vero South Beach, one of Vero’s nicest beaches with manicured lawns, clean cabanas and restroom facilities, beautiful paths winding through a lush sea grape hammock and inviting wide expanses of soft sand, now has quality beach chairs and umbrellas for rent.
Beach goers can now forgo carrying their gear and rent comfortable solid oak chairs and wide stable umbrellas for just $20 a day. Those who frequent the beach can also get discounted weekly rates and they can even join Shark Bait’s Beach Club where guests can buy multiple rentals and gain free days making it even more affordable.
A percentage of each rental goes to the City and for the first week, Shark Bait is donating a portion of sales to the Vero Beach Lifeguard Association (VBLA.org). Scot Caviness, Shark Bait’s CEO, a VBLA board member and local waterman has long advocated strong lifeguard coverage throughout Vero’s beaches.
“With the word beach in the city’s title and tourism being a prime mover for the area’s economy, it seems only logical that our beaches should be maintained to the highest standards and well-guarded,” Caviness said.
Caviness reminds everyone to read the beach information signs which are carefully updated daily and to swim near a lifeguard. “Vero’s lifeguards are a great group of people and if you have any safety related concerns they are always ready to assist and advise.”
