INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Anthony Consalo returned to Vero Beach as the latest graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.
As an FBI National Academy graduate, Lieutenant Consalo enters into a select group made up of less than one percent of the country’s law enforcement officers.
Lieutenant Consalo attended the 257th Session of the FBI National Academy, which consisted of men and women from 49 states, 26 international countries, three military organizations, and three federal civilian organizations.
The overall goal of the Academy is to support, promote and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques, facilitating excellence in education and research and forging partnerships throughout the world.
The FBI National Academy is dedicated to the improvement of law enforcement standards and has long been a benchmark for professional continuing education. Participants are drawn from every state in the union, from U.S. territories, and from over 150 partner nations. Police officers who attend the Academy return to their communities better prepared to meet criminal challenges.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “We are very proud of Lieutenant Consalo’s achievements. While in Quantico, he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. Lieutenant Consalo will continue to be a valuable asset to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of our county.”
