Children’s Transplant Association receives Dyer Difference Award

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Dyer Chevrolet and Dyer Mazda Subaru are pleased to announce the 75th recipient of the Dyer Difference Award. This award salutes a non-profit organization in Indian River County that is truly making a difference in our community.

Dyer Chevrolet and Dyer Mazda Subaru presented the Dyer Difference Award along with a $3,000 check to August’s recipient, COTA – Children’s Transplant Association.

COTA held a 5k on Aug. 23 at South Beach park to help reach a $75,000 goal to help 8-year-old Ethan Hendon receive a heart transplant.

Ethan is a second grader at Rosewood Magnet and his teachers and friends have used a community team approach to help the Hendon family focus on the well-being of their child.

“Ethan is a miracle,” Tatiana Dyer said. “We marvel at his strength, courage and perseverance.”
