Rhoda Alper, 89, died Jan. 30, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 28 years, coming from Deal, N.J.
She volunteered creating books on tape for the blind and working backstage at Riverside Theatre.
She worked with the Women’s Crisis Hotline and was formerly involved with the Unitarian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Fae Kopacka, of Vero Beach; son, Alan Alper, of Boulder, Colo.; and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Abe Alper.
