The Rotary Clubs of Indian River County get a new “AG” Assistant Governor

Richard Giessert, Marine Bank Vice President SBA Loan Officer, Past President and a past membership Chair of Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach has been named the Indian River County Rotary Assistant Governor (AG).  This is a first move into a district position for Richard and he replaces Elaine Jones of the Oceanside Club. Elaine now moves to AG Coordinator with District 6930 (Titusville to Boca and out to Okeechobee).

Richard has 5 clubs to work with: Oceanside, Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach, Orchid Island, Vero Beach and Sebastian.

His role:

As assistant governor, he will be the connection between clubs and the district. The relationships he builds with club leaders make Rotary stronger.

What he will do

  • Visit clubs regularly: Meet with each club at least once a quarter either in person, by phone, or by web conference. Listening to them enables to discuss their concerns and needs, and provide information, resources, and advice that will allow them to be more successful.
  • Help individual club leaders implement best practices.
  • Promote the best practices recommended in Be a Vibrant Club: Your Club Leadership Plan. Help club leaders implement those practices.
  • Keep the governor up to date on each club’s progress and identify areas that may need attention
  • Help club leaders prepare for the governor’s official visit
  • Monitor the progress of  clubs toward their goals: After a club visit, report  assessment and feedback through Rotary Club Central. Use this online tool to make sure clubs are on track with their goals and achievements in areas such as membership, service initiatives, and giving to The Rotary Foundation.
