Vero Beach Volunteer Fire Department Awards Ceremony

Come out and celebrate as our Vero Beach Volunteer Fire Department awards many of its members thousands of dollars in scholarships at the next Vero Beach Downtown Friday Night!

The Vero Beach Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1923 as a fully volunteer fire department. Years later a county-run paid fire department was created. The volunteer department still operates in conjunction with the paid county fire rescue department. Our members volunteer for fire rescue service as well as helping in the local community. We are a 501c organization and we operate completely by donations.

We have awarded over $50,000 in the past 5 years to assist our members in attending emergency training. This year we are awarding these scholarships on the main stage at Vero Beach’s Downtown Friday Night, Friday May 28 at approximately 7 pm on the main stage while the band goes on its break. We anticipate up to 10 volunteers to receive their scholarships and would love to see you there. This is your donations at work, so mark your calendars and let’s get ready to award our volunteers for their hard work and commitment so they can continue to learn, grow, and keep our community safe!
