William ‘Billy’ Laverack, 50, Sebastian

William “Billy” Laverack, 50, of Sebastian, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness, surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Donna Martini Laverack; his beautiful, talented children William (Thom) Laverack of Orlando and Kelsey M. Laverack of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Linda Virus of Hammonton, N.J. and Sue Dunphey of Green Bank, N.J.; brother John W. Laverack of Sebastian; and his mother, Margaret of Hammonton, N.J.

Laverack was born in State College, Pa., on Jan 12, 1966, the son of the late William B. Laverack Sr. and Margaret (Peggy) of Hammonton, N.J.

He graduated from Vero Beach High School, Vero Beach, where he was a champion on the varsity wrestling team.

He often told the story of catching a gator, taping its snout shut and legs to its body, taking it to wrestling practice and throwing it on the mat, asking, “Who wants to wrestle a gator?” They all ran. Bill ran a few extra laps that day.

He was a third-generation carpenter working in the family business, later branching out on his own.
