Barbara B. Gullett, 86, Vero Beach

Barbara B. “Bobbie” Gullett, 86, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 25, 2015, due to complications from a fall.

She is survived by her husband Bill; her children, Robin Waldron of Vero Beach, Nancy Mackey (Al) of St. Cloud, Fla.; and one grandchild A.J. currently residing in Germany; three step- children, Chris Gullett (Cristy) of Nevada, Nicole Tubaugh of Vero Beach, Michele Ratleph of Tennessee, and their children Eric, William, Sarah, Paige and Mackenzie.

Gullett was born Jan. 21, 1929. In 1947 she graduated from Teaneck High School and went to work at NBC in New York City. Two years later she married Thomas M. Waldron. They began their family and moved to Ramsey, N.J. where she worked as a secretary in her husband’s real estate firm.

She had several jobs as an executive assistant including North American Phillips where she met her second husband Stephen Yurica. In 1979 they moved to Vero Beach. Gullett continued to work as an executive assistant at various companies from 1982 to 1989. Shortly after they moved to Vero Beach, Stephen was stricken with Alzheimer’s disease and died in 1989.

In November of 1993, she met William W. Gullett on a blind date and they married a year later. They were married for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and summers in the Adirondacks.

There will be a celebration of her life at Christ Church in Vero Beach, FL on May 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. Donations in her memory can be made to Lawnwood Hospital Trauma Center in Ft. Pierce or Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Ft. Pierce FL 34981.
