VERO BEACH — Four people living in the 2400 block of Buena Vista Boulevard in Vero Beach were arrested Friday, Feb. 28, on a variety of drug charges after the Special Investigation Unit served a search warrant, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.
Prince Murray, 21, Crystal Barrie, 26, Kelsey Walls, 25, and Brian Wykoff, 30 were all arrested at 2411 Buena Vista Blvd., according to authorities. They are all listed as residents of that address. The Critical Response Team secured and escorted them outside the front of the residence.
Murray faces charges of possession of crack cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of oxycodone, and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
From the search, a pair of jeans was found with Murray’s identification card and a black sock containing fourteen individual baggies containing five grams of crack cocaine, six individual baggies containing 5.5 grams of marijuana, and three blue pills (30 milligrams of Oxycodone) in separate baggies.
“I can’t explain it,” said Murray about his ID being in the jeans with the drugs, according to the report. Murray does not have a prescription for Oxycodone, authorities said.
Barrie faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.
She said she was staying in Wykoff’s room. She told investigators she “shot up” a Dilaudid pill (pain killer) Thursday night. Barrie was asked about the seven clear baggies containing a white powder substance in the trashcan next to the bed.
She said they had contained crack cocaine she smoked on Thursday night with Wykoff. The room also contained a needle. Barrie said it was used to inject the pill.
Walls also faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to authorities. In Walls’s purse, which was found in the residence, four small baggies containing white residue and a syringe with white residue were found.
When questioned about the paraphernalia she said, “I only snort pills I don’t shoot, I get sick,” according to the arrest report.
Wykoff faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to authorities. A needle was found under the mattress of his room and two silver spoons with white residue were found on the top drawer during the search. Wykoff said the residue was left over from a Dilaudid pill and the needle was used to inject it into his arm.
The occupants were renting the home, according to Vero Beach Officer John Morrison. The investigation is ongoing.
