Charles B. Witte, 70, Vero Beach

Charles B. Witte, 70, died May 3, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

He was born in Queens, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for two years, coming from Lawton, Okla.

He was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Vietnam War.

Before retiring, he was the owner and operator of Witte Automotive in Lawton for 32 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lawton, and attended Cornerstone Christian Church, Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Janet R. Witte, of Vero Beach; son, Dr. Charles H. Witte, of Citrus Springs; daughter, Cindy Forbis, of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Irene Baker, of Bennington, Vt., and Margaret Flower, of Bayville, N.Y.; two grandsons; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William K. Witte; and parents, Christine M. and William Witte Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Christian Church, 5950 12th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32966.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. May 6 at Cornerstone Christian Church with the Rev. Kent Hawkins officiating.
