Jan W. Brothers, 56, died at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Plainfield, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 23 years, coming from New Jersey.
He was a firefighter in Plainfield and an owner of Brother and Sons Towing and Recovery.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Victoria Brothers, of Vero Beach; sons, Stephen Samuel Brothers, of Camp Pendleton, Calif., and Gavin Brothers, of Vero Beach; sisters, Debi O’Brien, of Vero Beach, Patricia Sacco, of Lakeland, Sandi Sacco, of Estero and Donna Sacco, of Bedford, Texas; and brothers, Thomas Sacco, of Fort Myers, Peter Sacco, of Arlington, Texas, and Lois Meadows, of Ocala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Lenore Brothers.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 11 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 923 19th Place, Vero Beach.
