Rex L. Nelson, 82, died Nov. 9, 2011, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Roseland.
He was born in Seward, Neb., and was a seasonal resident from Edmonds, Wash., living in Sebastian for 18 years.
He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in industrial engineering.
He served as a captain in the Air Force.
He was an executive with IBM in Armonk Village for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy W. Nelson, of Sebastian; daughter, Martha Wakenshaw, of Shoreline, Wash.; sons, Scott Nelson, of San Francisco, Todd Nelson, of Bellingham, Wash., and Kim Nelson, of Trumbull, Conn.; sister, Nancy Raney, of Santa Cruz, Calf.; and eight grandchildren.

No services are scheduled.
